"Crucifixtion- Mothers Pain" was painted from a dream. The concentration of the painting is on the emotions Mother Mary was feeling at the end of her sons life, at the foot of the cross. Wayne Pruse imagined the pain of Mary witnessing her son traumatically die on the cross. The artist's opinion is that they knew what was going to happen, but didn't know how horrible it would be. All emotion is drained from her.
