Artist's Description

I thought of this painting when I saw a news report on a starlet who was carrying an alligator purse. The animal rights people were outraged and created a campaign to destroy/disgrace the starlet. The starlet vowed she would never wear or buy anything that had been made from an animal. I thought - hmmm. That's a good thing except the starlet buckled to pressure - whether you agree with the animal rights activists or not. The point is - did she really believe in the cause or was she just changing her attitude for publicity? So I painted this piece to reflect on that incident: Save the Polar Bears!!!! Oh, I need a matching pair of polar bear mittens. Whaaaatttt! It's okay to not care about animal rights or bigotry or anything else that goes against the norm but, you should embrace what you really believe in or don't you really believe in anything? Curious.
